As Founder and President, I have developed our product line, planned and implemented our technical infrastructure and hired personnel. Metal Tiger Technologies currently uses Windows98, Windows NT and UNIX (Solaris 7) to develop, test and distribute multimedia on-line and on CD-ROM / DVD. I have also done all our marketing and publicity including appearing on TV.

• Installed own Internet Server (Solaris) at the World Trade Center (http://www.metal-tiger.com ) then subsequently migrated it to my own loft, while performing all System Administration tasks myself.

• Developed a technology assessment for using the Internet to replace Private VANS as the vehicle for International EDI Commerce with special considerations to accommodate the United Nations.

• Developed the Technical Budget for a Venture Capital Book for syndicating Internet Radio Stations. Built own RealAudio Site to demonstrate the necessary technology and have professionally produced own original content. Then upgraded to a High Bandwidth Video Portal featuring live content.

• Developed Web Content that included Quicktime, RealAudio, Streaming RealVideo especially live CyberCasts, Javascript, & Shockwave for Metal Tiger Technologies and its clients.

• Designed, Implemented and Administrated NT Networks for Legal & Private Investigator Offices including MS Exchange and IIS Webservers.

• Provided the Authenticode Signiture methodolgy for ActiveX controls to implement an Internet based customizeable TV Guide to support the PC/TV Tuner features of Windows 98.

Enterprise Performance & Capacity Planning / Storage Management

Quest Diagnostics is the world's largest medical testing company that had just completed a merger of equals with Smith Kline's Clinical Labs. Performed Capacity Performance Assurance on HP Unix, Tru64 Unix, Solaris, Windows NT, HP/MPE, OpenVMS and MVS Applications, particularly their new Web and PeopleSoft applications and server consolidations. Managed the EMC Command Console Server and used it to report on Symmetrix performance. Also ran the evaluation trial for BMC Software’s Patrol Monitoring Software.

• Provided the performance assurance and monitored the roll out of major B2B and B2C Websites implemented on IPlanet NT Servers and WebLogic HPUX Servers using Loadrunner, MeasureWare, Performance Monitor, Glance and Patrol.
• Provided the performance assurance and monitored the roll out of their PeopleSoft Financial and Human Resource Applications usingMeasureWare, Glance and Patrol.

• Prepared a server consolidation plan to rationalize the merger of two medical services companies' UNIX (HPUX, Tru64 & Solaris) and DEC Servers following using MeasureWare, PerfView and PolyCenter Advisor.

• Wrote a Capacity Reporting System for their Lab Systems.

• Installed, tested, evaluated and used many components of BMC's Patrol including Best/1.

• Installed and managed the EMC Command Console server at Quest Diagnostics.

• Helped develop standards including rationalizing two incompatible DNS.

Prepared a plan for establishing a Capacity Planning Function for their eChase Environment, including staffing, tools, methodology and interrelationship with other groups within the eBanking infrastructure which included HP Virtual Vault & Sun Solaris Unix Servers, Edify NT Servers, MVS and Tandem backend processing.

• Developed a Capacity Planning solution for Retail e-Banking environment (HP Virtual Vault, Solaris, MVS & Tandem).

• Reviewed e-Chase performance using Web Trends, SiteScope, Concorde Network Health, MeasureWare, Performance Monitor, summarized Tandem Data and Edify Server Logs.

• Discovered a fallacy in the queuing on the Edify Transaction Servers that severely limited their throughput.

Held a variety of Management positions in the area of Systems Management including Manager of the Computer Performance and Capacity Planning Group; Manger of the DASD Management Group; Manager of Accounting and Chargeback, and Senior Internal Consultant for Performance and Capacity Planning. Frequently handled more than one of these responsibilities simultaneously.

• Prepared an analysis of the Systems Management activities that Morgan must implement as a prerequisite to establishing an effective Capacity Planning and Performance Management program for the Bank’s UNIX Systems (Solaris & AIX) that illustrated how these activities were interrelated and should be coordinated.

• Using BEST/1 and the concept of Modeling by Analogy, I analyzed the plans of reusing the code, which was ported from DB2/MVS, from a low volume Trade Processing System for Mortgage Backed Securities (2000 per Day) to implement a very high volume system for Stocks (60,000 per Hour); identifying functions that needed to be recoded and estimating both on-line and batch unit costs per trade on the Solaris/Sybase Platform.

• Implemented a SAS Compute Server on a Sparc 20, which used SAS Access to extract data from remote relational databases (Sybase & DB2/6000), to support analyses of both UNIX (Solaris & AIX) and OS/2 systems at the Morgan Bank.

• Planned and implemented the system configurations for the Morgan Bank's migration to Deleware.

• Developed as a member of The Morgan Bank’s Lotus Notes Stabilization Task Force, useful Lotus Notes response time numbers from wildly varying data, which had been previously disregarded, by identifying the systematic statistical bias and its cause.

• Developed and implemented annual and long term Capacity Plans for the Morgan Bank’s data centers that were consistently accurate for eleven years.

• Developed and implemented Performance Reporting and Management Systems based in SAS. The salient features of this system and those created for Morgan Stanley, and the FAA have been included in at least one commercially available product.

• Monitored the MVS/CICS/DB2 Systems at The Morgan Bank, developed and implement resource allocation strategies, tuned configuration and identified poorly formed queries for recoding.

• Conducted the data definition, collection and analysis for the Compass service level benchmarks.

Operations Research Analysts: Progressed from a GS7 trainee to a GS13 Step 5 Project Manager with all promotions granted at the earliest allowable time according to Federal Stature. Worked on many interesting projects on a wide variety of hardware and software platforms including the very first Cray Machine at Los Alamos. Recently, I have enjoyed a delayed benefit from these experiences with respect to Distributed UNIX Systems and the new parallel architectures.

• As Project Manager, Conducted performance studies, trained local agency staff, and designed & implemented Performance Management Systems. To initiate these projects, Negotiated and wrote the Interagency Agreements that outlined the project’s objectives, detailed the tasks, and estimated the time and costs. All projects completed on time and within budget.

• As a member of a Delegation of Procurement Board, Reviewed the procurement of software and hardware monitors for all Federal Agencies.

• Provided Performance Analysis and Capacity Planning services for a wide range of Military and Civilian Agencies including the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics.

• Developed the Capacity Plan and monitored its implementation of the Social Security Administration's migration to their new data center while at FEDSIM.
