The Fighting for Health System is a combination
of the posture, breathing, and movement principles of Chinese Internal
Martial Arts together with basic Western and Eastern fighting techniques.
The system began as a method for my students to gain a wider range of controlled
sparring practices. It has since developed into a seperate system for stress
relief, conditioning and self-defense. Fighting for Health is taught in
five phases: Boxing-- Kick-boxing -- Grappling -- Self Defense -- and Weapons.
Each phase offers: Muscle &Tendon Stretching, Postural Alignment, Training
Exercises, Techniques and Sparring Methods.
Volume 1 - BOXING
Phase One consists of Stretches, 2 Stances,
9 Punches, and the two defense techniques of Boxing. It also explains 6
training exercises, sensitivity sparring and the three styles of Boxing.
While you learn to Shuffle and Shadow Box, you will enjoy a few tidbits
of Boxing History and Lore. This tape offers a great workout, is educational
and entertaining.

Volume 2 - KICK-BOXING
Phase Two recaps the basic Fighting for Health
stretches and adds a new leg stretching set. It also presents the foundations
of Taoist standing meditation. The heart of Phase Two is the 6 hand techniques,
8 kicks, 4 sweeps and 3 throws which are the technique section of the video.
These are followed by seven training exercises, 4 kick-boxing styles and
short lessons on defense and control. We hope you find this tape educational
and entertaining, as it contains a complete martial arts workout.

Volume 3 - GRAPPLING
Phase Three features Wrestling Master 'Dangerous'
Doug Westlake from the Wu Tang P.C.A. West and the Gentleman Grapplers
of San Clemente. This video begins with stretching and an explanation of
a HorseStance Chi Gung set for meditation, energy flow and leg, hip low
back strengthening. It goes on to show 5 training exercises and 4 takedowns.
The video reaches the central core of its teachings: the techniques and
sparring methods of three basic styles of Grappling: Boundrary Wrestling;
Pin-Fall Wrestling; and Submission Grappling.
