The Wu-Tang Physical Culture Association was founded in 1979 by it's director, Sifu Frank Allen. The goal of the Association is the spread of Taoist Ideology throughout Western Culture. To further this goal we offer courses in Taoist Martial Arts, Meditations and related subjects. All classes are taught by Frank Allen and/or the Wu-Tang P.C.A. staff instructors.

The Wu-Tang PCA offers its members an informal yet serious atmosphere where hard work and common courtesy replace the uniform and ritual codes of many modern martial arts studios.

Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan

Yang style is the most popular Tai Chi in the world. It is known equally for its healing abilities and its martial prowess. We teach a large frame version of the 24 posture form. Classes include Chi Kung, Push Hands and Fighting Applications.

Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan

At the Wu-Tang P.C.A. we teach the 16 move Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form, which was developed by B.K. Frantzis at the suggestion of his Teacher, Taoist Master Liu Hung Chieh.  With high, narrow stances and small circle movement, this is a Tai Chi form for everyone.  With its focus on opening and softening the body, this form quickly accesses all the health benefits of Tai Chi.  It also retains the subtle, short range fighting techniques which made Wu Style Tai chi famous in China.

Chi Gung

Chi Gung and Nei Gung are the energy exercises which form the foundations of all Internal Martial Arts and Health Systems. These exercises will relax and open the joints, fluid pumps and cavities of the body. Through them you will learn how to control the small movements of the body to create a constant flow of movement, breath and energy. You will learn to feel your energy - dissolve its blockages, increase its amount, and regulate its flow. At the Wu-Tang PCA, we base our program on the Taoist Water Method Nei Gung of Master B.K. Frantzis and augment this with the Buddhist Chi Kung of Master B. P. Chan. Alone exercises will relieve your stress, improve your health, and increase your awareness. They are also the spring from which all our other courses flow.

Taoist Meditation
Taoist Water Method Meditation will calm your mind, balance your emotions, find your inner stillness and introduce you to your energetic self. This is the tradition which Master B.K. Frantzis learned In Beijing from Grand Master Liu Hung Chieh.
Hsing I Chuan

Hsing I is the center line kung fu of Northern China. It is based on the ideology of imposing your will on your opponent. This art teaches a person how to project a rolling energy force which they can use in fighting or daily life. We offer the Five Elements of Hsing I Chuan which are taught with I Chuan type standing and meditation.

Pa Kua Chang
Pa Kua Chang is a 200 year old martial art that is founded upon a 3,000 year old system of Taoist Meditation. At its highest levels, it becomes a method of physically manifesting the patterns of change which are presented in the I Ching, or Classic Book of Changes. For health, Pa Kua offers all of the internal benefits of Tai Chi, while being aerobic exercise, which also stretches and tones the muscles. Its trade mark Palm Strikes and Circle Walking defense, along with an array of kicks, punches and throws, made Pa Kua the martial art of Beijing's elite bodyguards of the late 1800's.

At the Wu Tang Physical Culture Association, we take a three prong approach to Baguazhang Instruction: 1) Physical; 2) Martial and 3) Energetic and Spiritual.

Our Physical Base  is The Old Palm Changes of  Professor Kang Ge Wu of  Beijing Martial Arts Historian Fame, as brought to the States by Jiang Jian Yee of The Capitol District Tai Chi and Kung Fu Academy of Albany.

Our Martial Base is The Combined Form Pa Kua of  B P Chan, which is from the Jiang Rong Qiao lineage. This form is incrediably rich in both explicit and implicit martial applications, covering striking, kicking, throwing and Chin Na.

Our Energetic and Spiritual Base for our Baguazhang is The Beijing Pa Kua Chang of  Master Liu Hung Chieh as brought to the States and taught in the 1990's by BK Frantzis.

The Fighting for Health System
This system was developed at the Wu-Tang P.C.A. to provide a sparring system for the practitioners of the Internal Arts. It quickly evolved into a separate system for stress relief - general health and self-defense! Taught in progressive phases of boxing, kickboxing, grappling, self defense, and weapons; Fighting for Health combines basic Western and Eastern fighting techniques with the principles of Internal Martial Arts. Students combine stretching, body movement and alignment training with shadow boxing, heavy bag work, focus mitt and two person drills. At the center of each phase is the preparation for and practice of controlled contact sparring. This system maintains a lighthearted and fun attitude towards its work .
